1. You can Transport Your Household Items to Spain 

If you are fretting about spending a small fortune in buying household items for your new home in Spain, worry not as Spain’s geographical location will allow you to transport your belongings. You can easily move items via air freight, train, sea or in some cases even by road. 

However, the transportation cost you will incur varies with the channel used. Air freights generally are expensive but can transport goods within days. In contrast, as there are many ports in Spain, ships are cheaper and convenient but they can take months for arriving at the destination.

Therefore, vaccination against rabies is one of the foremost conditions. Since animals of age less than 3 months cannot be vaccinated, you will have to leave the baby dogs or cats back at home.  

You can also take birds, fish, reptiles and other similar pets but you will have to get a veterinary certificate issued. If transporting from out of the EU, a zoo-sanitary certificate and declaration stating the non-commercial purpose of moving pets will be required. 

3. Spain Will Not Permit Taking of These Items 

There are a few products and items which Spain will restrict from entering its borders. Food including meat and dairy products, plants including vegetables and flowers as well as protected wild animals will not find a way to Spain. Plus, some medications and cosmetic items are also prohibited without prescription. 

If you have a medical condition, ask your doctor to issue a certified letter stating the reason for prescribing the drug.  

Transporting firearms or fireworks, counterfeit products, radioactive substances, drugs and obscene material are all on the no-entry list of the country.
